BREAK INTO FILM

The future of the film industry rests on spotting talent and developing that talent, with BFI Film Academy Short Courses an excellent start towards a career in the screen industries, where an interest in film and the filmmaking process can be nurtured and grown for ambitious 16 to 19 year olds.

This high-quality course develops your understanding of the fundamentals of filmmaking, from screenwriting, cinematography and sound, to directing, production and editing.

You will make short films, learn from top talent working in the industry through masterclasses, and acquire the necessary knowledge and experience to build a career within the screen industries. Through completion of this course, you will gain the NCFE Preparing to Work in the Film Industry level 5 equivalent qualification, benefitting your professional development, whether through further film study or entering the workplace.
