We are hosting open information sessions for young people and parents/ carers at the following venues:
There will be a short presentation on each of the courses followed by the opportunity to meet tutors and ask any questions. We will also have staff on hand to help fill out application forms.
The BFI Academy – Edinburgh Network
This course is open to anyone aged between 16-19 who is interested in developing their interest in film. Young people don’t need any formal training, just an interest and enthusiasm for film!
This course takes place every Saturday from 19th October 2019– 1st February 2020 at a central venue in Edinburgh. Cost is £25, but this can be waived dependant on circumstances. Travel costs can also be reimbursed.
Moving Image Arts Award – (MIA)
MIA is open to those aged 16-21 and is at a subsidiary A-Level qualification. No previous film-related qualifications are required but being able to show a strong interest in film and a willingness to learn is key. This programme will take place for an academic year from September for two evenings per week at the Screen Education offices at Ferry Road Avenue in North Edinburgh. This is a free course.
Details of the sessions are in the poster below, and spaces can be registered for at: bit.ly/2OV54IV
