Film Education Tutor Role Description – 2 positions available
Screen Education Edinburgh is a centre of excellence for the study and production of film for young people, adult learners, communities and independent filmmakers from all backgrounds, with a passion for nurturing creativity and artistic expression, raising levels of attainment and aspiration. We exist to develop skills, knowledge and passion in filmmaking for all, with a specific focus on nurturing those traditionally excluded from film activity, be that cinema engagement, production or representation on screen.
Screen Education Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh Council, Into Film and Centre for the Moving Image are working in partnership to design and deliver a comprehensive programme of film education to teachers and pupils in schools run by the City of Edinburgh Council. This opportunity is open to primary, secondary and special schools.
As a film education tutor, you will be part of a team developing and delivering this comprehensive film education experience. The programme of practical learning will include the watching and understanding of film as well as the production of a short film. There is a strong focus on Career-long professional learning (CLPL) for teaching staff. This will include your development of curricular classroom-based resources.
