Professional Learning Opportunities in Filmmaking (for council staff)
Screen Education Edinburgh will continue to deliver professional learning sessions and develop Practical Filmmaking Skills and Knowledge for use in the Classroom, which will run Friday afternoons from 1.30pm-3.30pm, St Thomas of Aquins High School, Chalmers Street, EH3 9ES.
These 4 sessions cover key aspects of film making to give teachers/ PSA’s/ workers in youth or community settings confidence and skills to enable them to teach film making effectively to any sector/ class / group.
- Camera and Sound – 21 September – CF2049
Learn about the key technical craft roles in filmmaking from camera composition to recording professional sound, and how you can apply these techniques using the most basic equipment.
- Storytelling – 28 September – CF2048
The session will look at effective ways of developing well structured and plot driven story ideas suited to the medium of short film.
- Editing – 5 October – CF2050
Using professional software Avid Media Composer, you will be shown the basics of film editing and be given advice on cost effective editing softwares that will do the job.
- Tour of SEE – 26 October – CF2208
