Underpass nominated for Into Film Award

The SEE team are delighted that our BFI Film Academy Scotland Residential 2017 film ‘Underpass’ has been nominated for an Into Film Award, one of just three films from hundreds of entries in the live action 13 and over section.

The Into Film Awards 2018 will take place at BFI Southbank, London on Tuesday 13th March at 1.15pm. Attended by stars from the film industry, this event is set to be a really exciting day for everyone involved.

The judging panel across all the filmmaking categories include specialists from the film industry: film producer and co-founder of the Academy Award-winning Aardman Animations, Peter Lord (Chicken Run, Arthur Christmas and Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit), art director, Lydia Fry, (Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 & 2), BAFTA Award- winning actor, Jamie Bell (Jumper, Fantastic Four and Billy Elliot), and founder and CEO of IMDb, Col Needham.

‘Underpass’ stars Yvonne Paterson, Kyle Fitzpatrick, Mark Carnochan, Hannah Caddell and Kerri Clarence. The team producing the film were director Kelly Draper, writer Amber Ferguson, producer Hannah Caddell, director of photography James McDougall, camera operator Euan Holmes, camera assistant Marsha Bingham, assistant director Elisha McNally, sound recordists Adi Suri and Nye Smith, with the whole group post producing the film.

‘Underpass’ was developed and produced over 11 days as part of our intensive BFI Film Academy Scotland Residential, with 24 young people from Scotland, Northern Ireland, England and Wales taking part. Funded by BFI, Creative Scotland and the Creativity team, Lifelong Learning, City of Edinburgh Council, three films were produced alongside training and development in all film craft areas, as well as Industry masterclasses focusing on future progression.
